Redding Reloading Equipment
The Redding 40 S&W Carbide GRX Push Thru Size Die solves one of the most frustrating challenges in reloading 40 S&W ammunition: the stubborn bulge that forms near the case base during brass work. If you've noticed that familiar ridge appearing on your fired 40 S&W cases—the one that standard sizing dies leave behind—this specialized die is engineered to eliminate it completely. By passing the case entirely through the die rather than just sizing the neck and shoulder, the GRX design flattens that bulge and restores your brass to full service condition, letting you reload with confidence and consistency.
Reloaders who work with substantial volumes of 40 S&W brass know that case longevity matters. Unsized bulges can affect how your cases chamber, lead to inconsistent feeding, and complicate future reloading sessions. The Redding carbide construction means this die handles the work efficiently, resisting wear across hundreds of cycles. If you're serious about preserving your brass and maintaining tight ammunition tolerances, the GRX Push Thru is a practical investment that pays dividends over time.
This die addresses a real problem that generic sizing dies simply don't—it's a specialist tool for reloaders who understand that proper case preparation is foundational to reliable, accurate handgun ammunition. The carbide surface is built for the demands of high-volume reloading.
| Caliber | 40 S&W |
| Die Type | Push Thru Sizing Die |
| Material | Carbide |
| Brand | Redding |
| Model | GRX |
A push thru die passes the entire case through the die cavity, rather than just sizing the neck and shoulder like conventional dies. This complete contact eliminates bulges at the case base—a problem unique to 40 S&W brass that standard dies leave unaddressed.
No. The Redding GRX Push Thru is designed specifically for 40 S&W. It is not compatible with other calibers.
The 40 S&W case geometry and chamber pressures create a distinctive bulge near the case base during firing. This is a characteristic of the cartridge that makes base bulge sizing a worthwhile step for reloaders who want to maximize brass life and ensure consistent performance across reload cycles.
Carbide dies resist wear better and require less lubrication during the reloading process, making them efficient for high-volume work. For serious 40 S&W reloaders processing substantial amounts of brass, carbide typically pays for itself in convenience and longevity.
