Rearden
The Rearden FHD Flash Hider is a dedicated muzzle device engineered for suppressor mounting on short-action rifle platforms. Built in 17-4 PH stainless steel in the H900 condition, this 14x1 left-hand thread flash hider seats against your barrel shoulder and accepts Rearden's Plan B suppressor mounts—the same interface used on Rearden Atlas and Atlas XL cans. If you're running a short-barreled rifle or precision build where you want fast, repeatable suppressor attachment and minimal muzzle rise, this is a purpose-built solution that demands proper installation.
The black nitride finish (67 HRC surface hardness) is both cosmetic and functional—nitride's tighter seal characteristics mean your suppressor will lock down with less play, though this only works if you follow Rearden's installation protocol exactly. The larger wrench flats on the rear let you torque it securely without rounding corners. Note that this hider ships without shims; depending on your barrel's thread geometry, you may need them to time the device perfectly square to the bore. Rearden's documentation is clear: use an alignment rod during setup, clean all surfaces before assembly, and Loctite and torque the hider to the barrel at 30 foot-pounds, then torque the suppressor itself to 10 foot-pounds.
One critical compatibility note: Rearden explicitly warns that using this hider with non-Rearden suppressors may void your warranty on Rearden cans. If you're committed to the Rearden ecosystem—Atlas, Atlas XL, or their Plan B mounting standard—this is a solid, no-frills muzzle mounting solution. If you're mixing platforms, verify compatibility before ordering.
| Thread Pitch | 14x1 Left-Hand | |
| Mount Type | Facemount Shoulder | |
| Material | 17-4 PH H900 Stainless Steel | |
| Finish | Black Nitride (67 HRC) | |
| Compatible Platforms | Rearden Plan B, Atlas, Atlas XL | |
| Installation Torque (Hider to Barrel) | ~30 ft-lbs | |
| Suppressor Torque | ~10 ft-lbs | |
| Shims Included | No |
The FHD Flash Hider is compatible with Rearden Atlas, Atlas XL, and any suppressor designed for the Plan B mounting interface. Rearden warns that using it with other manufacturers' suppressors may void the warranty on Rearden cans.
Shims are not included with the hider. Whether you need them depends on your barrel's thread relief geometry. If your barrel lacks a thread relief, you'll likely need shims to time the device square to the bore. Check with your barrel manufacturer or barrel threading shop if uncertain.
Clean all threads and surfaces, use an alignment rod to verify bore alignment, torque the flash hider to the barrel at approximately 30 foot-pounds, then Loctite the joint. When attaching the suppressor, ensure the mounting threads and tapers are clean, then torque the suppressor to approximately 10 foot-pounds and verify alignment.
This model is 14x1 left-hand thread with facemount shoulder contact design, suitable for short-action rifle platforms with compatible threading.
