Pro-Shot
The Pro-Shot MP45 bore mop for 40-45 caliber pistols is a go-to tool for shooters who want a fast, effective way to clean and lubricate their centerfire handguns. Built from 100% cotton with a brass core, this mop threads onto standard 8-32" cleaning rod connections and works with .40 cal, 10mm, .41 cal, .44 cal, and .45 cal pistols. Whether you're breaking in a new carry gun, maintaining a duty weapon, or keeping your range shooter in top shape, a quality bore mop handles the routine work that keeps your bore protected and your gun running smooth.
Cotton bore mops excel at wet cleaning and lubrication tasks. The material's absorbent nature makes it ideal for pushing oil-based lubricants down the bore while the mop's texture helps distribute the lubricant evenly. Many shooters find that the cotton fibers create a gentle foaming action when used with bore oil—a process that helps the lubricant coat the bore more thoroughly than a brass brush or patch alone. For quick post-range cleanups or light maintenance between detailed cleanings, a bore mop is faster and less aggressive than traditional brushes.
Pro-Shot's construction ensures durability through repeated use. The brass core won't rust or corrode, and the tightly wound cotton construction resists fraying or shedding fibers in your bore. Keep one in your range bag, your cleaning kit at home, or as a backup—at this price point, there's no reason not to have a mop dedicated to each of your .40-45 caliber pistols.
| Material | 100% cotton with brass core |
| Thread Type | 8-32" American Standard |
| Compatible Calibers | .40 cal, 10mm, .41 cal, .44 cal, .45 cal |
This mop is designed for .40 cal, 10mm, .41 cal, .44 cal, and .45 cal pistols with 8-32" threaded cleaning rods.
A bore mop is gentler and better suited for lubrication and light cleaning. It's often used after a brass brush has done the heavy scrubbing, or for quick maintenance cleanings with bore oil. The cotton material distributes lubricant evenly without the aggressive scrubbing action of a brush.
Yes, if your rod has an 8-32" thread connection. This is the standard American thread size for pistol cleaning rods. Check your rod's specifications to confirm compatibility.
While you can use it dry for light cleaning, a bore mop is designed to work best when used with oil-based bore lubricants, which the cotton absorbs and helps distribute throughout the bore.
