Pietta
The Pietta 1851 Navy .44 Cal 6-shot revolver is a faithful reproduction of one of history's most iconic percussion cap black powder firearms. Built with a case hardened steel frame, blued cylinder, and walnut grip, this 7.37" revolver delivers the authentic handling and ballistics that have made the 1851 Navy a favorite among black powder enthusiasts, historical reenactors, and traditional shooting competitors for generations. Whether you're loading on the range, hunting with period-correct gear, or stepping back in time at a rendezvous, the 1851 Navy offers reliable, honest firepower without modern complications.
Pietta's manufacturing combines old-world aesthetics with quality steel construction. The case hardened frame—finished in those distinctive mottled browns and grays—isn't just for show; it provides durability and authentic period appearance. The blued cylinder complements the frame, and the walnut grip offers a comfortable, traditional feel that suits both long shooting sessions and historical authenticity. At .44 caliber, you'll have respectable power for game and paper, all while enjoying the meditative ritual of cap-and-ball shooting.
This is a firearm for shooters who appreciate mechanics and history. Loading, capping, and firing require patience and technique—there's no safety lever, no cylinder stop button, just the deliberate movements that black powder demands. That's the appeal. If you're already invested in the black powder lifestyle or curious about stepping into it, the 1851 Navy is a proven, accessible entry point.
