The Pachmayr Decelerator Old English recoil pad in small size is a time-tested solution for shooters who want to tame recoil without sacrificing aesthetics or field practicality. Built from Pachmayr's renowned Decelerator rubber compound, this pad absorbs and distributes recoil energy across a wider surface area, reducing felt kick and helping you stay on target through follow-up shots. The small profile fits trimmer rifle builds and shotguns where a bulky pad would throw off balance or stock fit.

What sets the Decelerator Old English apart is its classic design: a smooth-sided exterior with tapered internal ribbing that works with the rubber's inherent dampening properties to manage recoil impulse. The solid base—no white line stripe—gives it a clean, traditional look that suits hunters and sport shooters who prefer understated gear. At 1 inch thick, it strikes a balance between meaningful shock absorption and keeping overall length manageable. The black rubber finish is durable and won't mar easily during handling or carry.

This pad is built for durability in the field. Whether you're shooting high-recoil cartridges during a long range session, running shotgun slugs, or just looking to reduce cumulative shoulder fatigue on a hunting trip, the Decelerator delivers consistent performance. Installation requires a gunsmith or careful DIY fitment to your specific stock, so plan accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this pad fit my rifle or shotgun stock?

The small size measures 1.68" wide by 5.30" long, making it suitable for trimmer stocks and shotgun configurations. Check your current pad dimensions or consult your stock manufacturer to confirm fit. Professional installation is recommended for proper alignment and durability.

How much does this recoil pad reduce felt recoil?

The Decelerator rubber compound is engineered to absorb and distribute recoil energy across its surface and through its tapered internal ribbing. The 1-inch thickness provides meaningful dampening; actual felt reduction depends on your rifle's recoil impulse and your individual sensitivity. It's particularly effective with high-recoil calibers and shotguns.

What's included when I order this pad?

You receive the Decelerator pad itself. This pad does not come with trimmed flashing or finish grinding pre-applied—plan for gunsmith fitting or careful DIY installation to your stock.

Is this pad suitable for hunting or range shooting?

Yes. The classic design and proven Decelerator rubber make it a versatile choice for hunters managing recoil during long sessions in the field, as well as competitive and recreational shooters looking to improve accuracy and reduce shoulder fatigue.
