Nordic Components
The Nordic Components 12 Gauge +6 MXT Extension Tube is a magazine extension designed to increase the ammo capacity of compatible 12-gauge shotguns. If you shoot competition, hunt waterfowl, or simply want more rounds between reloads, this extension tube adds six rounds to your shotgun's magazine without requiring a complete aftermarket tube swap. The kit arrives ready to install with everything you need: the extension tube itself, a properly-matched spring, and an end cap.
Built from anodized 6061 aluminum, the MXT tube delivers the strength needed for duty and field use while keeping weight minimal. The design incorporates a relief groove that prevents barrel clamp travel and maintains consistent, repeatable placement when you disassemble the shotgun for cleaning. That groove is positioned off-center, which means you can reverse the tube to fine-tune fit and positioning on your particular shotgun—a small detail that adds flexibility when getting the extension to sit just right on your gun.
Installation requires purchasing a Nordic Components extension tube nut separately; that nut is specific to your shotgun model and brand, so you'll need to identify your firearm before ordering. The +6 capacity sits right in the middle of the MXT lineup, offering a meaningful increase in firepower without the extra bulk or weight of the larger extensions. Whether you're running 3-inch magnums or standard loads, this aluminum extension handles the job.
| Gauge | 12 |
| Capacity Increase | +6 rounds |
| Material | Anodized 6061 aluminum |
| Included Components | Extension tube, spring, end cap |
| Required Separate Purchase | Extension tube nut (model-specific) |
Yes. This kit includes the tube, spring, and end cap, but you'll need to purchase the correct Nordic Components extension tube nut for your specific shotgun model. The nut is sold separately and varies by manufacturer and shotgun platform.
Nordic Components makes \"B\" model extensions engineered specifically for Benelli M1 and M2 shotguns. Check whether you need a +3B (for 18.5\" barrels) or +5B (for 21" barrels) model instead of this standard +6 extension to ensure proper flush fit on your Benelli.
Yes. The relief groove is positioned off-center, and the tube is machined with matching thread pitch on both ends, allowing you to reverse it to fine-tune positioning and fit on your shotgun.
The relief groove eliminates barrel clamp travel and ensures the tube returns to the same position reliably after you disassemble and reassemble the shotgun for cleaning or maintenance.
