Mossberg
The Mossberg Silver Reserve 12 gauge over/under shotgun with 28" barrel is built for hunters and sport shooters who want classic double-gun performance without the premium price tag. This break-action design delivers the reliability Mossberg is known for, with a 3.5" chamber that handles the full range of 12 gauge loads. The 28" barrel strikes a balance for both upland hunting and clay shooting, while the ventilated rib helps with sight picture and barrel cooling on longer sessions in the field.
What makes this over/under stand out is the feature set you'd typically find on guns costing significantly more. The dual locking lugs ensure solid lockup, and the chrome-lined barrels and chambers resist corrosion—important if you're hunting near water or in damp conditions. The tang-mounted safety doubles as your barrel selector, giving you intuitive control without fumbling. Come with a full 5-choke field set, so you can dial in the right constriction for your distance and target.
The Vintage Patina Brown Cerakote finish on both the receiver (which carries the Mossberg logo) and barrels gives the gun a purposeful look that shows it's made for work. The synthetic stock in Mossy Oak Vintage Shadowgrass won't swell or warp in the truck bed, and at 7.25 pounds it's light enough to carry all day. The 14.5" length of pull works well for shooters in standard gear, and shell extractors pop empties free when you break the action—fast and reliable between shots.
Whether you're working waterfowl, upland birds, or practicing trap and skeet, this Silver Reserve delivers solid gun handling, proven mechanics, and genuine versatility without the boutique-brand markup.

The Mossberg Silver Reserve is a 12 gauge with a 3.5" chamber, meaning it handles 2.75" and 3" 12 gauge shells as well as the full 3.5" magnum loads. That flexibility lets you choose the right load for your hunting situation—lighter target loads for practice, standard field loads for upland birds, and heavy magnums for waterfowl or late-season hunting.
Yes. The Silver Reserve ships with a full 5-choke field set, giving you the flexibility to adjust constriction from tight to open depending on your range and target. That saves you money over buying chokes separately and lets you fine-tune your pattern for both hunting and clay shooting.
The fixed length of pull is 14.5", which works well for most shooters in standard hunting or clay gear. If you're significantly larger or smaller, you may want to try the gun in person or plan for an aftermarket pad adjustment. The synthetic stock is durable but not adjustable.
The 3.5" chamber, chrome-lined barrels, and synthetic stock all point to a gun built with waterfowl in mind. The chrome-lined chambers resist corrosion from wet conditions, and the synthetic stock won't swell or warp if the gun gets wet. The 28" barrel and vent rib are practical for decoyed birds and marsh shooting.
