The Mossberg 90130 is a 28" all-purpose replacement barrel built for shooters who want versatility without complexity. If you own a Mossberg 500 or Maverick 88, this barrel swap opens up your shotgun's capability—whether you're pattern-testing at the range, hunting upland game, or running clays. The vent rib and dual bead sights give you a clean sight picture for moving targets, while the smooth bore and included Accu-Choke set (Improved Cylinder, Modified, Full) let you dial in patterns for whatever you're shooting. The blued finish matches factory Mossberg aesthetics and holds up to regular use.

This is a no-fuss upgrade path for Mossberg shooters. Swapping barrels takes minutes and requires nothing more than the included wrench; you're not buying new Accu-Choke tubes separately because they come with the barrel. The 28" length is the working middle ground—long enough for decent sight radius and pattern density, short enough to handle in brush or from a vehicle. If you're building a do-everything shotgun or just want a second barrel that handles multiple roles, the 90130 is straightforward, proven hardware.

Worth noting: this barrel is made for standard Mossberg 500 and Maverick 88 receivers. Mossberg's Cruiser and Chainsaw models use different specs, so those platforms aren't compatible. Check your gun's model before ordering. If you've got a standard 500 or 88, you're good to go.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this barrel fit my Mossberg 500 or Maverick 88?

Yes, the 90130 is designed for standard Mossberg 500 and Maverick 88 receivers. It is not compatible with the Mossberg 500 Cruiser (#54125) or 500 Chainsaw (#50460) models, which use different receiver designs. Check your shotgun's model to confirm compatibility before ordering.

What choke tubes come with the barrel?

The barrel includes a complete Accu-Choke set with three tubes: Improved Cylinder, Modified, and Full. A choke tube wrench is also included so you can swap chokes in the field without additional tools.

Is this barrel suitable for hunting?

Yes. The 28" smooth bore barrel with vent rib and dual beads is designed as an all-purpose barrel that handles upland hunting, waterfowl, and sport shooting. The included choke tubes let you optimize patterns for your specific application—tighter chokes for longer range, looser ones for closer work.

What tools do I need to install this barrel?

The barrel swaps onto your Mossberg 500 or Maverick 88 receiver with basic hand tools. The included choke wrench is everything you need to adjust chokes. Installation is straightforward and takes only a few minutes.
