Meprolight
The Meprolight ML880500 MicroRDS Kit for Glock MOS brings modern red dot technology to your pistol without requiring expensive slide milling or gunsmithing. This complete kit pairs Meprolight's compact Mepro microRDS red dot sight with a patented quick-detach adapter designed specifically for Glock MOS (Modular Optics System) slides, giving you a genuinely fast-acquisition pistol optic that's equally at home as a backup sight on rifles or shotguns. If you've been holding off on going optics-ready because of the cost and hassle, this kit removes those obstacles.
The Mepro microRDS itself is built for the job: rugged, lightweight, and purpose-designed for pistol shooting. Its 3 MOA red dot cuts through the sight picture fast enough for defensive work while staying precise enough for accurate shot placement at distance. The large sight window lets you shoot with both eyes open, maintaining your situational awareness in daylight, low light, or complete darkness. Battery life is practical—a single CR2032 powers the sight, and you can swap it without ever removing the optic from the gun, so your zero stays put.
What sets this kit apart is the quick-detach mounting system. Unlike solutions that require re-zeroing every time you remove and reinstall the sight, Meprolight's patented adapter lets you detach and reattach the red dot to the same mounting slot without losing zero. For shooters who want to run both optics and iron sights, or who may want to move the sight between platforms, that's a genuine advantage. The TruDot self-illuminated backup sight built into the mounting system keeps you covered if the red dot goes dark.
This is a smart choice for Glock MOS owners who want the speed and confidence of a quality red dot without the upfront cost of custom slide work or the commitment of permanent installation.
| Reticle | 3 MOA red dot |
| Battery Type | CR2032 |
| Mounting System | Patented quick-detach adapter for Glock MOS |
| Backup Sight | Meprolight TruDot self-illuminated sight |
Yes. This kit is specifically designed for Glock MOS (Modular Optics System) slides. The quick-detach adapter mounts directly to the MOS footprint.
No. The patented quick-detach mount allows you to remove and reinstall the red dot to the same slot without losing zero, provided you're using the same mounting position.
The kit includes the Mepro microRDS red dot sight, the patented quick-detach adapter, and the Meprolight TruDot self-illuminated backup sight that integrates with the mounting system.
The microRDS itself can serve as a backup or secondary sight on rifles and shotguns. However, this particular kit's quick-detach adapter is engineered for Glock MOS slides. Use on other platforms would require compatibility verification with those specific firearm mounting systems.
