Martin
The Martin Caddis Creek Fly Reel is a single-action rim-control reel built for anglers chasing 5- and 6-weight fly lines on small to medium streams and creeks. This is a straightforward, durable workhorse—no frills, no unnecessary weight—that gets out of your way so you can focus on reading water and presenting flies. The Caddis Creek excels in tight quarters where a responsive, lightweight reel matters, whether you're high-sticking small dries or nymphing pocket water.
Built from reinforced aluminum, the spool is tough enough to handle years of regular use without denting or warping. The single-action design means one turn of the handle equals one spool revolution—direct and predictable, with no multiplier to complicate things. The metal click drag engages with a satisfying mechanism and features an on/off control, letting you switch between drag resistance and free-spool when you need it. Rim control means you manage tension by pressing your palm against the spool edge, giving you tactile feedback and fine-tuned authority in the moment.
The lightweight aluminum spool keeps the overall reel weight minimal, reducing fatigue during a long day of casting and stripping. The push-button release makes spool removal quick and simple when you need to swap line or back it off for maintenance. At the spec'd capacity, it'll comfortably hold a 5- or 6-weight line plus 50 yards of 20-pound backing, giving you enough reserve for aggressive runs on larger creek trout or smallish river fish.
