The Magpul MOE SL Enhanced Recoil Pad is a drop-in replacement buttpad designed to upgrade comfort and handling on rifles equipped with MOE SL pattern stocks. If you shoot an AR or other platform using a MOE SL, MOE SL-S, UBR GEN2, MOE AK, Zhukov-S, or X-22 Backpacker stock, this thicker rubber pad transforms how your rifle feels at the shoulder—especially over long sessions at the range or in the field. At 0.7 inches thick, it adds roughly 3/8 inch to your length of pull while keeping the weight penalty under 1 ounce, making it a practical upgrade for shooters who want better ergonomics without restructuring their setup.

The pad retains the ribbed, non-slip texture you get on the standard MOE SL buttpad, so your shoulder stays planted even when you're moving between positions or shooting in less-than-ideal conditions. The top features a gentle curve that seats naturally against your shoulder, and the angled, serrated toe is designed both for comfortable mounting and to make shouldering the rifle more intuitive. Magpul engineered this as an evolution of their popular CTR Enhanced Butt-Pad, blending proven durability with the refined design of the current MOE SL platform.

Installation is straightforward—it's a direct swap for any stock already running the MOE SL pattern buttpad interface. Whether you're running a precision rifle, a duty gun, or a hunting platform, this pad works quietly in the background, improving shooter comfort without changing the profile or balance of your stock. It's the kind of upgrade that doesn't sound glamorous until you realize how much easier it is to get a repeatable, comfortable cheek weld over dozens of rounds.

Frequently Asked Questions

What stocks does the MOE SL Enhanced Recoil Pad fit?

This buttpad is a direct replacement for any stock using the MOE SL pattern buttpad interface, including the MOE SL, MOE SL-S, UBR GEN2, MOE AK, Zhukov-S, and X-22 Backpacker models.

How much does it improve length of pull?

The enhanced pad adds approximately 3/8 inch to your length of pull, making it a meaningful upgrade for shooters who want a more comfortable cheek weld or shoulder position without replacing the entire stock.

Will adding this pad significantly change my rifle's weight?

No. The pad weighs less than 1 ounce, so it has virtually no impact on your rifle's overall balance or handling characteristics.

Is this the same as the standard MOE SL buttpad?

Both pads feature the same non-slip ribbed texture and curved shoulder design, but the Enhanced version is thicker (0.7 inches) and vented, providing greater comfort during extended shooting sessions and increasing your length of pull.
