The Magpul MAG586-PLM ZHUKOV 11.70" polymer handguard for AK-platform rifles brings modern ergonomics and modularity to one of the world's most prolific rifle designs. Built for shooters who want better control, heat management, and accessory versatility without compromising AK reliability, the Zhukov trades traditional fixed furniture for a purpose-built platform that actually works with how you shoot today.

The 11.70-inch length gives you real estate for modern shooting technique—a longer sight radius, better hand placement options, and room to mount optics and tactical gear without cramming everything into a tiny footprint. The aluminum internal chassis handles the heat that gets dumped into the handguard during sustained fire, while the injection-molded polymer exterior stays comfortable in your hands even after a long range session. That plum finish is Magpul's signature color: durable, distinctive, and a clean complement to modernized AK builds.

M-LOK slots run along the sides and bottom, giving you standardized mounting points for lights, grips, cable management, and other accessories. The handguard also works with the Ultimak gas tube rail system for optics mounting, opening up sight options that don't rely on the receiver or require drilling. Installation involves removing the hand guard retainer—a straightforward swap on most AK variants.
