Magpul
The Magpul MBUS rear sight in Stealth Gray is a rugged, instantly deployable backup iron sight built for AR-15 and M16 platforms. When your primary optic goes down—and if you run hard enough, it will—this folding rear sight deploys with a single touch and locks into place, giving you a fighting chance to stay in the fight. It's engineered for speed and reliability, so you don't have to think twice when seconds count.
Built from tough polymer with a streamlined profile, the MBUS rear sight folds flat when you're not using it, staying out of your way and clear of slings, brush, and gear snags. The spring-loaded ambidextrous release tabs work from either side of the sight, making deployment smooth whether you're right or left handed. When you're back on your optic, a quick hit to those same tabs retracts the sight just as fast.
This backup sight mounts to any Picatinny rail and uses less than an inch of rail real estate, so it won't crowd your setup. The included steel crossbolt locks it securely in place. The rear aperture gives you two peep options—a larger .185" opening for faster target acquisition and a smaller .070" for precision work—and it's windage adjustable to dial in your zero. The sight sits at the same height over bore as an A2, so if you've already zeroed irons on another rifle, the transition is familiar.
Whether you're running a duty carbine, a precision rifle, or a recreational AR, the MBUS is the kind of backup sight that earns its spot on your gun. No hype, just solid engineering and proven reliability.
