The Magpul MBUS Front Sight is a rugged, lightweight backup sight designed for the AR-15 and M16 platform. Whether you're running a dedicated optic setup or stacking iron sights as a backup, this folding sight gives you a compact solution that stays out of the way until you need it. Built from impact-resistant polymer, it weighs next to nothing and won't slow you down—yet it's tough enough to handle the recoil and handling abuse that comes with real-world shooting and training.

The MBUS front sight mounts directly to any MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail on your handguard, and it's precisely calibrated to match the height-over-bore of standard A2 irons, so your zero translates seamlessly between backup and primary sights. The spring-loaded flip mechanism deploys and locks with equal ease from either side or a quick press on top—no fumbling in a stress situation. When you fold it away, the detent and spring pressure keep it rock-solid until impact forces it down; protective wings shield the front post and spring assembly from damage.

Elevation adjustment is intuitive: the included tool handles it, but most aftermarket A2 sight tools work too. This is the kind of no-frills, purpose-built gear that earns its place on a working rifle. Made in the USA, the Stealth Gray finish blends into modern furniture while the sight itself blends into your workflow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the MBUS front sight fit my AR-15 handguard?

The MBUS front sight mounts to any handguard with a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail. Most modern AR-15 handguards have this rail, but confirm yours before ordering.

Does this front sight work with my existing rear iron sights?

Yes. The MBUS front sight is calibrated to the same height-over-bore as standard A2 front sights, so it will cowitness and zero with most AR-platform rear sights, including other Magpul MBUS units and A2-style irons.

What's included with the MBUS front sight?

The sight ships with an elevation adjustment tool. Most aftermarket A2 sight adjustment tools are also compatible if you prefer to use your own.

Does the folding mechanism stay secure when deployed?

Yes. Spring-loaded detent pressure keeps the sight erect and locked during normal use. The sight will fold down under direct impact, but won't flip up on its own during shooting or handling.
