Maglula
If you run an AR-pattern rifle in 7.62x39, you know that loading those picky magazines by hand is a test of patience and thumb endurance. The Maglula AR-15 7.62x39mm polymer magazine loader and unloader takes the fight out of it—a purpose-built tool designed specifically for the thin-walled magazine construction common to AR 7.62x39 platforms. Maglula engineered this loader to work with industry-standard magazines from AR Stoner, ASC, C Products, D&H, Franklin Armory 10-round, and Pro-Mag, so you'll know going in whether it fits your setup.
The genius of a dedicated magazine loader isn't just comfort—it's longevity. Repeatedly ramming rounds into tight magazine feed lips under your thumb wears them down and causes soreness that lingers for days after a range session. This polymer loader distributes pressure evenly across the magazine body instead, preserving those delicate feed lips while sparing your hands. The integrated metal magazine catch is built rugged enough to handle the thin sheet metal these 7.62x39 magazines use, meaning you can load with real force without the loader slipping or deforming under pressure.
Fair warning: the first three and last three rounds in each magazine may require a bit of finesse to seat, since most 7.62x39 AR magazines lack an anti-tilt follower. But the middle rounds load smooth, and once you dial in the technique for the tight ones, the speed gain versus hand-loading adds up fast—especially if you're cycling through multiple mags at the range or working up ammo for a match. The compact, lightweight polymer design means it rides easy in a range bag or pack, so there's no excuse not to bring it along.
Keep in mind that the metal catch may leave marks on the magazine body over time, so if pristine cosmetics matter for your collection, inspect your magazines afterward or limit use to duty or range-only mags you don't mind seasoning.

It's designed for 7.62x39 AR-pattern magazines from AR Stoner, ASC, C Products, D&H, Franklin Armory (10-round), and Pro-Mag. If your magazine is from one of those manufacturers, you're good to go. If you're unsure of your magazine brand, check the body or baseplate for markings.
The middle rounds load smoothly. The first three and last three rounds may require a bit more patience and technique due to the lack of an anti-tilt follower in these magazine designs—this is a limitation of the magazines themselves, not the loader.
The metal magazine catch may leave marks on thin magazine bodies over time. If magazine cosmetics are important to you, consider reserving the loader for range or duty mags. The marks are cosmetic only and don't affect function.
A dedicated loader distributes pressure evenly across the magazine instead of concentrating force on your thumb and the feed lips. This reduces hand soreness during long range sessions and minimizes wear on the magazine's feed lips, extending their useful life.
