The Lyman 7810215 Large Primer Pocket Uniformer is a hand tool designed to address one of the most critical—and often overlooked—steps in ammunition reloading: achieving consistent primer pocket depth. Whether you're loading rifle rounds for precision long-range shooting or prepping bulk pistol ammunition, primer pocket uniformity directly affects ignition consistency across your entire batch. This multi-caliber tool handles large primer pockets, making it a go-to choice for rifle reloaders working with standard brass.

Consistent primer pocket depth is foundational to uniform ignition. If pockets vary in depth, primers seat at different pressures, leading to inconsistent firing pin strikes and variable ignition timing—problems that cascade into velocity spread and point-of-impact drift downrange. The 7810215 cuts each pocket to a standardized depth that meets SAAMI specifications, eliminating guesswork and ensuring every primer seats at the same depth relative to the case. The depth collar locks at a factory pre-set specification, so you get the same result every time without adjustment.

Like other Lyman hand tools, the 7810215 features a cushioned polyurethane handle designed for comfort during repetitive use and built to withstand years of reloading work. If you're serious about ammunition quality—whether you're loading for match shooting, hunting, or high-volume range sessions—primer pocket uniformity belongs in your case prep routine, right alongside deburring, flash hole cleaning, and inspection.
