Lee Precisiom
The Lee Precision 7mm-08 Remington collet neck sizing die offers a different approach to case preparation than traditional full-length sizing. Instead of pushing the case neck over a tapered button, a collet (a precision split sleeve) squeezes the case neck inward against a hardened mandrel. This collet-grip method produces minimal neck run-out and requires no case lube during the sizing process—a real convenience when you're working through dozens or hundreds of rounds at the bench.
If you're chasing accuracy in your reloading, case neck runout matters. The collet's even, controlled squeeze around the case neck leaves you with consistently concentric ammunition. Because the sizing action is gentler on case material than traditional button dies, brass lasts significantly longer. That extended case life means fewer fireforming cycles and less waste, so the die investment pays for itself relatively quickly if you're a regular reloader.
This is a neck sizing die only—it does not resize the case body or perform full-length sizing. That makes it ideal if you're maintaining fired brass from a specific rifle and want to keep case dimensions tight for better chamber fit and repeatability. You'll still need a separate full-length sizing die if your workflow or rifle change requires it, but for dedicated rifle reloading, a neck-only approach is solid.

A collet neck sizing die uses a precision split sleeve (collet) that squeezes the case neck inward against a hardened mandrel, rather than pushing the neck over a tapered button. The collet method produces lower neck run-out and requires no case lube. It's also gentler on brass, extending case life significantly.
No. The collet sizing method does not require case lube, which simplifies your prep workflow and keeps your hands and equipment cleaner.
No, this is a neck sizing die only. It sizes the case neck but does not resize the case body. It's designed for reloaders who fire and resize brass in the same rifle, maintaining tight neck dimensions for better accuracy.
Because the collet sizing process is gentler on case material than traditional button dies, brass will tolerate more sizing cycles before it becomes fatigued or unsafe. This reduces your ammunition costs over time and means less frequent brass replacement.
