Lee Precisiom
The Lee Precision 90486 00 Buck Shot Mold is an 18-cavity aluminum casting mold designed for shooters who want to reload buckshot at a fraction of commercial ammunition costs. Whether you're a waterfowl hunter, upland shooter, or clay target enthusiast working with 00 buckshot, this mold lets you produce consistent pellets sized at .330" and weighing 53.8 grains each — the foundation of reliable, repeatable loads.
Cast from aluminum rather than steel or iron, this buckshot mold offers real practical advantages for serious reloaders. Aluminum conducts heat faster, meaning shorter cycle times between casts and less waiting around between pours. That speed matters during longer casting sessions when fatigue can affect the quality of your work. The material is also naturally rust-resistant, so you won't spend time fighting corrosion if your reloading bench sees seasonal humidity or moisture. And if weight matters during repetitive casting — it does — aluminum is noticeably lighter on your hand and wrist than heavier alternatives.
The 18-cavity design maximizes output per pour, letting you produce a full complement of shot for multiple rounds without multiple heat cycles. Keep in mind that alloy composition and weight can influence final pellet characteristics, so you may need to dial in your specific alloy blend to match the manufacturer's suggested weights. Handles are sold separately, so factor that into your setup if you don't already have Lee handles that fit this mold.

No. Handles are sold separately. You'll need to source Lee handles that are compatible with this mold if you don't already have them on hand.
Aluminum heats up and cools down much faster than steel or iron, which means shorter wait times between casting cycles and less fatigue during longer reloading sessions. It's also naturally rust-resistant and lighter to handle.
The 18-cavity design produces 18 pellets per pour, each sized at .330" diameter and weighing 53.8 grains.
Yes. The manufacturer provides suggested weights for specific alloys, but there can be some variance depending on your exact alloy composition and casting technique. You may need to test and adjust your alloy blend to dial in the results you want.
