Lee Precisiom
If you're casting your own round balls for blackpowder rifles, revolvers, or percussion cap firearms, the Lee Precision 90406 Double Cavity Bullet Mold in .311 diameter gives you a reliable, affordable way to produce consistent projectiles at the bench. This aluminum mold is purpose-built for the reloader and shooter who wants to control costs without sacrificing quality — it's the kind of practical tool that's made Lee a go-to name in the casting world.
Aluminum construction offers real advantages over heavier steel or iron molds: it heats and cools faster, which means you spend less time waiting between pours and more time casting. The material also resists rust, so you won't fight corrosion if you store it properly between sessions. The cavity block halves are CNC-machined to tight tolerances, reducing the risk of premature wear and producing smooth, uniform balls every time.
The mold comes with handles included — a feature that cuts your setup cost and gets you casting straight out of the box. Two cavities per pour let you work faster than single-cavity alternatives, making it a sensible choice whether you're prepping ammo for a hunting season or maintaining a steady supply for regular range sessions at the blackpowder bench.

.311 diameter balls are sized for various blackpowder firearms including certain rifle and revolver applications. Always consult your specific firearm's documentation or a reloading manual to confirm the correct ball size for your weapon before casting or loading.
Yes. The mold ships with handles included, so you don't need to purchase them separately.
Aluminum heats and cools more quickly than steel or iron, which speeds up your casting cycle and reduces idle time at the bench. It also resists rusting, making storage and maintenance easier. The tradeoff is that steel and iron molds tend to be heavier, which some casters prefer for stability.
The Lee Precision 90406 is a double cavity mold, allowing you to cast two round balls per pour.
