Lee Precisiom
The Lee Carbide Breech Lock Bushings 4-Die Set for .45 ACP is purpose-built for reloaders who've already invested in a Lee Breech Lock quick-change press and want to swap dies fast without threading and unthreading. This complete carbide die set handles the full reloading cycle for .45 ACP and is especially useful if you're processing mixed range brass—the carbide dies won't leave sizing lube buildup, and the full-length sizing die handles brass from multiple sources. Carbide dies run cooler and last longer than steel, a real advantage when you're pushing volume or setting up a progressive setup.
The set includes four dies: a carbide full-length sizing die to prep brass consistently, a powder-through expanding die to bell the case mouth in one motion, a micrometer bullet seating die for precision and repeatability, and a carbide factory crimp die to lock the round together. Each die has a colored quick-change bushing so you can spot which die is which at a glance and swap them into your Breech Lock toolhead in seconds. You also get a universal shell holder, a powder dipper for charge verification, and Lee's load data and instructions to get you started.
If you already own a Breech Lock press, this set slots right in. If you're running a standard Lee press (not Breech Lock), you'll need to thread the dies into a standard toolhead instead—the dies themselves are compatible, but you lose the quick-change speed advantage. For high-volume .45 ACP handloaders or anyone building a flexible pistol reloading station, carbide dies and the Breech Lock system cut setup time and keep quality consistent.
| Caliber | .45 ACP |
| Breech Lock Compatible | Yes |
| Die Material | Carbide (sizing and crimp dies) |
| Bushing Type | Colored quick-change bushings |
| Shell Holder | Universal shell holder included |
| Accessories Included | Powder dipper, load data, instructions |
The dies are compatible with standard Lee presses, but you'll have to thread them into a standard toolhead rather than use the quick-change bushing feature. You lose the speed advantage of the Breech Lock system, but the dies themselves function the same way.
Carbide sizing dies don't require lube, run cooler, and resist wear better than steel—big advantages if you're reloading mixed or dirty range brass in volume. The carbide factory crimp die also resists buildup from high-volume use.
You need a Lee press with the Breech Lock quick-change feature on the toolhead to take advantage of the colored bushings and tool-head swaps. Check your press manual or contact Lee if unsure whether yours has it.
This set includes the four dies, universal shell holder, powder dipper, and load data to get started. You'll still need a reloading press, scale or powder measure, calipers, brass, bullets, and powder—this is the die set only.
