Lee Precisiom
The Lee Precision 90958 Collet Neck Sizing Die for .270 Winchester Rifle is a precision reloading die designed to give handloaders tighter neck concentricity and repeatable bullet seating. Unlike full-length sizing dies that work the entire case, a neck sizing die focuses on the case neck alone—squeezing it against a precision mandrel to fit your bullets with minimal runout. That means straighter bullet-to-bore alignment and more consistent chamber fit, which translates to tighter groups and fewer vertical spreads on the range or in the field.
This Lee collet-style die is built for shooters who want accuracy without the complexity of custom equipment. By sizing the neck to ideal dimensions, the die allows you to seat bullets out far enough to touch or nearly touch the rifling, establishing optimal shot start pressure from the moment the firing pin falls. That kind of pressure consistency is otherwise tough to achieve without a heavy crimp, so you get the benefits of precision neck control in a straightforward, no-fuss package.
Neck sizing is particularly popular with hunters and precision rifle shooters who reload for bolt-action rifles and want to maximize case life while preserving accuracy. Because the body of the case isn't being resized, your brass lasts longer—often good for 15 or more reloads. If you're serious about ammo quality for your .270 Winchester and you're already investing time in handloading, this die pays dividends in consistency and performance.

A neck sizing die only resizes the case neck to fit your bullets precisely. A full-length die resizes the entire case body as well. Neck sizing leaves the case body dimensions unchanged, which extends case life and is popular with precision shooters and handloaders who shoot in bolt-action rifles. This Lee die is a neck sizer only.
Yes—this die is designed specifically for the .270 Winchester cartridge. Always verify your cartridge matches the marked caliber before sizing.
The collet grips the case neck against a precision mandrel, squeezing it to ideal dimensions with minimal runout (wobble). Straighter, more concentrically seated bullets shoot more consistently. The die also allows you to seat bullets closer to or touching the rifling, which optimizes shot start pressure for tighter groups.
Because a neck sizing die only works the case neck and leaves the body untouched, your brass typically lasts 15 or more reloads—significantly longer than full-length sizing. Actual life depends on your load, primer type, and shooting conditions.
