Lantac
The Lantac Plan-B Lamprey flash hider for .223/5.56 rifles combines signature control with modularity. This 1/2x28-threaded muzzle device uses a distinctive four-tine design to disrupt powder gases and reduce flash intensity and duration—particularly valuable if you shoot suppressed or want to minimize muzzle signature in low-light conditions. What sets the Lamprey apart is its Plan-B hub compatibility: you can swap suppressors without removing the flash hider itself, simplifying your setup and keeping timing consistent across different cans.
Built from AISI 4140 steel and hardened to 48–52 Rockwell C, the Lamprey is then QPQ nitrided to AMS2753D standards—that's the same corrosion and wear resistance process used in professional and military applications. It's precision-machined on Swiss lathes and manufactured in the USA. The short profile (1.75" length) keeps your overall rifle length manageable while maintaining the gas-disruption geometry that makes the design work.
The unit ships with a timing shim set, so you can dial in zero-timing or indexed timing as your setup requires. Lantac recommends Rocksett (semi-permanent thread locker, sold separately) for installation. Note that because the Plan-B mount design is not licensed from Q, using this flash hider may affect suppressor warranty coverage with Q-brand silencers—check your can's documentation. For other Plan-B-compatible suppressors, compatibility and warranty terms depend on the manufacturer.

The Lamprey uses a Plan-B mount design that is not licensed from Q. While it is mechanically compatible with Plan-B suppressors, using a non-Q-licensed flash hider may affect your Q suppressor's warranty. Check with Q or your suppressor's manufacturer before pairing them.
The Lamprey is chambered for .223/5.56 and threaded 1/2x28, the standard for .223 rifles. Verify that your barrel is threaded 1/2x28 before purchase. For SBR or pistol use, confirm that your local laws permit it.
The Lamprey ships with a timing shim set, allowing you to achieve zero-timing or indexed timing. Lantac recommends purchasing Rocksett (semi-permanent thread locker) separately for installation.
The toothed four-tine geometry disrupts powder gases more efficiently than conventional designs, reducing both flash intensity and duration. This can be especially noticeable in low-light shooting or if you're running a suppressor on top of the Lamprey.
