Kleen-Bore
The KleenBore MOP20 20 gauge shotgun bore mop is a purpose-built cleaning tool for shooters who want to maintain their shotguns properly without cutting corners. Made from 100% cotton, this mop is designed to absorb and distribute solvents and CLP deep into a fouled bore, breaking down powder residue and copper fouling where brush bristles alone fall short. It threads onto standard 5/16-27 rod connections—the American shotgun standard—so it works with most common cleaning rod setups without adapters.
Shotgun bore cleaning demands patience and the right tools. After you've run brushes and patches through, a quality mop soaked in your preferred solvent can work into the subtle contours of the bore and chamber to lift stubborn buildup. The absorbent cotton construction holds enough fluid to do the job without dripping all over your bench, and it can handle both the initial soak-and-scrub phase and the final lubricant pass once the bore is clean. Made in the USA, this mop reflects the kind of no-nonsense quality that serious gun owners expect from Kleen-Bore.
Whether you're prepping a new shotgun, restoring a neglected beater, or running routine maintenance on a hunting gun, having the right bore mop on hand saves time and delivers better results than improvising with makeshift applicators. This one fits your standard shotgun cleaning rod and costs nothing to keep in your kit.
| Gauge | 20 |
| Thread Size | 5/16-27 (American Standard Shotgun) |
| Material | 100% Cotton |
| Made in | USA |
Yes, if your cleaning rod uses the standard American shotgun thread size of 5/16-27. This is the common connection for most shotgun rods. If you use a proprietary or non-standard rod, verify the thread size before ordering.
A bore brush has firm bristles designed to scrub and agitate fouling loose; a bore mop is soft, absorbent cotton that soaks up and distributes solvent deep into the bore. Most thorough cleaning jobs use both: brush first to break up fouling, then a mop to dissolve and flush out residue.
This mop is sized for 20 gauge bores. Using it in a different gauge bore may result in poor contact with the bore walls and reduced cleaning effectiveness.
The cotton will work with standard gun solvents and CLP products. Refer to your solvent or lubricant manufacturer's instructions for application and safety guidance.
