Kleen-Bore
A Kleenbore Mop12 bore mop for 12 gauge shotguns is a workhorse cleaning accessory built to handle the wet side of shotgun barrel maintenance. Made from 100% cotton, this mop is engineered to absorb and hold solvents, cleaners, and lubricants as you push it through a fouled bore—or to apply final protective coatings after the hard scrubbing is done. The 5/16-27 thread pattern fits standard American shotgun cleaning rods, so it'll work with most 12 gauge shotgun cleaning kits you already own. Made in the USA, it's the kind of straightforward, durable gear that gets the job done without fuss.
Shotgun bore cleaning isn't glamorous, but it's essential. After a day in the field, powder fouling, lead buildup, and corrosion can set in fast. A quality mop that actually absorbs and holds your cleaning solution makes a real difference—you're not just pushing air through the barrel. The cotton construction wicks solvent into and through the bore more effectively than thinner materials, so you spend less time cycling the rod and more time actually cleaning.
Whether you're running a potent bore solvent to cut stubborn fouling, applying a protective CLP, or doing a final pass with gun oil, having a dedicated mop sized for 12 gauge means the tool matches the job. Keep one in your cleaning kit at home and another in your range bag so you're never caught without one.

Yes, as long as your cleaning rod has a 5/16-27 thread, which is the standard American shotgun thread pattern. If your rod uses a different thread size, this mop won't be compatible.
Yes. The cotton mop works with bore solvents, CLP, and gun oils. Many shooters use one mop for solvent application during cleaning and swap it out for a fresh one when applying final protective lubricant.
While the mop can be reused, it's designed as a consumable. Over time and with repeated use and solvent exposure, the cotton will wear. Many shooters keep several on hand for different stages of cleaning or replace them regularly as part of routine maintenance.
