Kahr Arms
The Kahr Premium Series P45 in .45 ACP is a compact, carry-focused pistol built on trigger-cocking DAO (double-action-only) operation—a design that appeals to shooters who want a straightforward, safe platform for personal defense or backup duty. This is a single-stack, single-action trigger gun engineered from the ground up for concealed carry, with a locked-breech Browning-type system that handles full-power .45 ACP loads reliably in a package that measures just 6.07 inches overall and tips the scales at 18.5 ounces. The combination of size, weight, and chambering makes it a serious option for those who prioritize stopping power in a defensive pistol.
Kahr's design philosophy here centers on simplicity and shootability. The passive striker block and lack of a magazine disconnect mean fewer moving parts to maintain or malfunction. The 3.54-inch polygonal barrel—1-in-16.38 right-hand twist—is optimized for the round's ballistics, and the textured polymer grip ensures you maintain control even in less-than-ideal conditions. A full set of drift-adjustable tritium night sights come standard, so you're ready to shoot in low light without additional investment. The matte blackened stainless slide and black polymer frame deliver a clean, professional look that doesn't scream for attention in a waistband or shoulder rig.
Capacity sits at 6+1 with the supplied stainless magazines (three mags ship with the gun), which is in line with what buyers expect from a single-stack .45 built for concealment. If you're coming from a larger service pistol, you'll notice the difference in round count—but the tradeoff is a gun you can actually carry all day without fatigue. The trigger-cocking DAO design means consistent trigger press every time, no external safety to fumble, and no decocker to think about. Load it, carry it, and when you need it, press straight back.
This is the pistol for the shooter who understands ballistics and isn't swayed by capacity chasing. Whether you're building a concealed-carry rig, looking for a defensive backup gun, or simply want a reliable, no-frills .45 you can trust, the Kahr P45 Premium Series delivers on its promise of compact, straightforward performance.

Yes. At 6.07 inches long and 18.5 ounces unloaded, it's purpose-built for concealment. The compact single-stack design balances power (.45 ACP) with wearability, making it a solid choice for IWB, shoulder, or pocket carry depending on your rig and clothing.
Yes. The Premium Series includes drift-adjustable tritium night sights, so you can shoot accurately in low light without buying an aftermarket set.
Three 6-round stainless steel magazines ship with the pistol. Combined with one round in the chamber, that gives you a 6+1 primary magazine and two spares for practice or backup.
DAO stands for double-action-only. This means every trigger press—first shot and every shot thereafter—cocks and releases the hammer in one long, smooth pull. There's no external safety to manipulate, and the passive striker block prevents accidental discharge if the gun is dropped. It's a clean, intentional system favored by defensive shooters who want simplicity and consistency.
