Dewey
The J. Dewey ABS-1S is a 13" adjustable bore saver rod guide designed for .17-.22 caliber rifles equipped with scopes. If you run a scoped rifle and want to protect your chamber and action while cleaning, this guide does the job by replacing the bolt during the cleaning process. The longer 13" length gives you extra clearance when working under long-range target scopes or varmint optics—a real advantage if you're shooting a higher-magnification setup and need room to work without banging your scope.
The core feature here is chamber protection. A rubber O-ring seal keeps bore solvent from migrating into your action, trigger group, and magazine—the places where contamination does the most damage. That's a simple but effective design that extends the life of your rifle's internals and keeps your trigger and action running clean. The aluminum rod guide collar is built to last, and the threaded brass adjustment pin lets you dial in the fit for your specific action length quickly, without fumbling around with different guides.
Keep one thing in mind: you'll need a cleaning rod that's 13" longer than your barrel length to use this guide. That's the trade-off for the extra clearance under longer scopes—it's worth it if you're running magnified glass and tired of wrestling your cleaning rod around your optics. If you have shorter scopes and want a more compact setup, Dewey also makes a 10" version, but the ABS-1S 13" is the ticket for shooters with serious long-range or target rigs.
