IWI US
The IWI Tavor SAR 16.5" 5.56mm conversion kit transforms your existing Tavor SAR 9mm platform into a versatile 5.56 NATO rifle without replacing the entire firearm. This factory conversion kit from IWI US is engineered for shooters who want to expand caliber capability while keeping their current Tavor platform—ideal for hunters, sport shooters, and tactical rifle enthusiasts looking to run the same controls and ergonomics across multiple ammunition options.
The kit ships with everything needed to make the conversion: a 16.5" cold hammer-forged barrel in CrMoV steel with 1:7 right-hand twist, matched to the 5.56 NATO cartridge. You'll also get a complete right-hand bolt carrier assembly with recoil components, an A2 flash suppressor, a 5.56-specific deflector and frame, and a barrel wrench for installation. The inclusion of a Magpul PMAG Gen M3 30-round magazine means you can test your conversion immediately.
This conversion approach appeals to Tavor shooters who've built familiarity with the platform and want to stay in that ecosystem rather than transition to a different rifle. The cold hammer-forged barrel construction is built for durability and consistent accuracy across high round counts. Installation requires basic armorer-level knowledge; if you're not comfortable handling the swap yourself, a gunsmith familiar with the Tavor platform can complete it quickly.
