Hornady
The Hornady Match Grade Horn 545101 Die Set for .22 ARC gives handloaders precise control over neck tension and case sizing—critical for shooters chasing tight groups and consistent velocities. If you're loading for this modern intermediate cartridge and want a die set that prioritizes accuracy, these dies let you dial in your setup rather than settle for one-size-fits-all geometry. The interchangeable self-centering neck size bushings are the key: they eliminate the guesswork and case overworking that comes with standard full-length sizing, keeping your brass in better shape across multiple reloading cycles.
What sets Match Grade dies apart is the precision engineering built in. Tight tolerances in the resizing chamber translate directly to more uniform case dimensions, which means better ignition consistency and tighter velocity spreads—and that shows up downrange. Whether you're a precision rifle competitor or a dedicated .22 ARC hunter, the ability to choose the exact bushing your cartridge needs means you're not forcing cases into a generic mold.
The seating die comes factory-installed with Hornady's new Click-Adjust Bullet Seating Micrometer, a recent addition that makes fine-tuning bullet seating depth faster and more repeatable than older designs. It's a thoughtful detail that makes the reloading process less frustrating and more precise.
| Cartridge | .22 ARC / .224 |
| Brand | Hornady |
| Product Line | Match Grade Dies |
| Die Type | Full-length sizing with interchangeable bushing and seating die |
| Seating Micrometer | Click-Adjust (factory installed) |
The interchangeable self-centering neck size bushings let you select the exact bushing diameter your .22 ARC brass needs. This replaces the standard full-length sizer die that may over-resize case necks. By controlling neck tension precisely, you avoid unnecessary work-hardening and achieve more uniform case-to-bullet fit, which reduces vertical dispersion and improves group consistency.
The product record specifies the die set includes interchangeable bushings, but does not list the quantity or sizes included. Contact us to confirm which bushings are provided with your set.
Yes. As of 2025, the Click-Adjust Bullet Seating Micrometer comes factory installed on Hornady Match Grade seating dies, including this .22 ARC set. This micrometer simplifies precise seating depth adjustment compared to older methods.
The .22 ARC is a modern intermediate rifle cartridge. Handloaders seeking precision ammunition for this round benefit from Match Grade dies because the tight tolerances and bushing control help you build loads with consistent velocities and minimal shot-to-shot variation—especially valuable in precision rifle, competition, and long-range hunting applications.
