The Hornady XTP Hunting 10mm Auto .400 155 gr hollow point ammunition is a proven choice for hunters and shooters who demand reliable expansion and deep penetration from their handgun rounds. Built on decades of development, the XTP bullet has earned its reputation for consistent performance across a wide range of hunting scenarios and self-defense applications. Whether you're reloading for your 10mm or stocking factory ammunition, the XTP delivers the kind of terminal performance that separates good ammo from ammunition you can actually count on in the field.

What sets the XTP apart is its engineering: controlled expansion happens reliably even at lower velocities, thanks to precision serrations that divide the bullet into symmetrical sections and strategically weaken the jacket. The gilding metal jacket encloses the lead core completely, protecting the hollow cavity so it functions predictably on impact and feeds smoothly through semi-automatic pistols. A swaged core ensures uniform density throughout, which means balanced expansion and stable flight from shot to shot—critical when accuracy and consistency matter as much as stopping power.

Reloaders appreciate the XTP for its uniformity and the cannelure on revolver loads, which allows accurate, consistent crimping without distortion. The drawn gilding metal jacket uses variable thickness to control expansion more effectively than uniform-jacket plated bullets, giving you an engineering advantage that shows up in the field. For 10mm hunters, precision shooters, and anyone building their own ammunition, the XTP 155 gr is a serious component backed by genuine performance data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the Hornady XTP 155 gr for hunting with my 10mm handgun?

Yes. The XTP is designed for hunting applications and is engineered to expand reliably across a range of handgun velocities, making it suitable for 10mm hunting use.

Will the XTP feed reliably in my semi-automatic 10mm pistol?

Yes. The fully enclosed gilding metal jacket protects the hollow cavity and ensures proper feeding in semi-automatic firearms.

What's the difference between the XTP and other hollow point bullets?

The XTP uses a drawn gilding metal jacket with variable thickness to control expansion more effectively than uniform-jacket plated bullets. Precision serrations and a swaged core provide consistent, balanced expansion and flight stability.

Is this suitable for reloading?

Yes. Reloaders value the XTP for its uniformity and consistent performance. Revolver loads feature a cannelure for accurate, consistent crimping without distortion.
