Hornady HAP Target 9mm .356 125 gr bullets are purpose-built for competitive action pistol shooters who demand reliable feeding and consistent accuracy shot after shot. Unlike Hornady's XTP design, HAP bullets strip away the serrations used for expansion and instead focus on what matters in the competition ring: a clean, balanced profile that feeds smoothly through semi-automatic pistols and delivers the precision required to win matches.

The design philosophy is straightforward: in action pistol competition, expansion performance takes a back seat to reliability and accuracy. The HAP's protected nose—sheathed in gilding metal—eliminates snags that can cause feed failures when you're on the clock. That protection matters when a jam costs you the match. The core is cold swaged from pure lead, engineered for consistency and flight stability so every round performs like the last. Combined with industry-leading jacket concentricity and precision manufacturing, these bullets print the tight groups that separate winners from the rest of the field.

If you're loading for 9mm competition pistols, service-industry practical shooting, or high-round-count training sessions, Hornady HAP Target bullets give you the accuracy and dependability that come from refined engineering rather than marketing hype. At 125 grains in .356 diameter, they're sized for standard 9mm chambers and built to cycle reliably in modern autos without the premium cost of loaded ammunition.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between HAP and XTP bullets?

HAP bullets eliminate the serrations found on XTP bullets. Since competition shooting doesn't require expansion performance, removing those serrations creates a sleeker profile that feeds more reliably in semi-automatic pistols and delivers the accuracy competitive shooters need.

Will these feed reliably in my 9mm semi-automatic?

Yes. The protected nose design of HAP bullets is specifically engineered to prevent jams and feed smoothly through modern semi-automatic pistols, making them ideal for competition and high-volume practice shooting.

Are these loaded rounds or reloading components?

These are bullets only—reloading components. You'll need to load them yourself with appropriate powder, primers, and brass according to published reloading data for your specific setup.

What's the core made of?

The core is cold-swaged from pure lead, which delivers the consistency and weight stability needed for pinpoint accuracy across high-volume shooting sessions.
