Higdon Decoys
The Higdon Outdoors Hard Body 1/4 Strut Jake Turkey Decoy is a single-piece resin decoy built to provoke aggressive responses from tom turkeys. This quarter-strut jake decoy replicates the semi-dominant posture that irritates dominant gobblers—the kind of visual that brings them into range. If you're running a spread with a laydown hen or setting up for aggressive tom hunting, the realistic jake posture creates the competitive dynamic that works when birds are fired up and responsive.
The decoy uses Higdon's XHD Hyper Feathering process, which details individual feathers across the body for the kind of realism that matters at 40 yards. The hard body design is ultra-lightweight and durable—no soft foam to tear or absorb water—making it reliable through multiple seasons and easy to pack in the included decoy bag. A universal stake motion system lets the decoy move naturally in even light air, adding life-like motion that static decoys can't match.
Setup is straightforward: one-piece body with integrated stake storage means no fiddling with separate parts in the dark before dawn. Pair it with Higdon's laydown hen for a classic deadly combination, or build your own spread. Whether you're hunting aggressive fall birds, working a strut zone, or adding realism to a spring setup, this jake decoy handles the job without the weight penalty or maintenance headaches of older designs.
