Haydels
The Haydel's VTM90 Variable Tone Double Reed Mallard Hen Duck Call is purpose-built for serious waterfowlers who want versatility and control in the marsh. This black acrylic open call uses a double reed design to produce authentic mallard hen sounds—the bread-and-butter vocalizations that consistently bring ducks within range. Whether you're working a small pothole or a major timber flat, the variable tone feature lets you dial in everything from soft, conversational feeding calls to more aggressive comeback quacks without switching calls, giving you one reliable tool for the full spectrum of mallard hunting situations.
Haydel's has built a reputation among duck hunters for calls that sound right and respond predictably when you need them most. This VTM90 strikes a balance between user control and ease of operation; the acrylic construction is durable enough for hard use and easy to maintain in the field. If you're past the beginner stage and looking to expand your mallard calling game, or you're building a versatile waterfowl setup, this call belongs in your bag.
Pair it with a standard duck call lanyard and you've got a proven platform for late-season birds, unpressured flocks, or situations where hens are doing the talking. The VTM90 is the kind of call that earns its place in your decoy spread through results, not hype.
The VTM90 is tuned for mallard hen sounds and produces a range of quacks and feeding calls typical of female mallards. The variable tone feature allows you to adjust the character of these sounds to match the hens in your area or the calling situation.
The VTM90 is designed as a versatile open call for waterfowlers with some calling experience who want multiple tones from a single instrument. Beginners may want to start with a more basic single-reed call before moving to a double reed variable tone option.
You receive the Haydel's VTM90 call itself. A lanyard is not included and should be purchased separately if desired.
