The Haydel's Game Calls BH07 Black Hole Double Reed Mallard Duck Call is purpose-built for hunters who want authentic mallard vocalizations without overcomplicating their spread. This black polycarbonate call features a double-reed design that produces the open, natural quacks and feeding chuckles mallards recognize—the foundation of any effective duck hunting setup. Whether you're working a traditional pond or a coastal marsh, a reliable mallard call that cuts through wind and honks with conviction is non-negotiable. The BH07 delivers that straightforward performance.
Double-reed duck calls give you versatility in tone production. With proper technique, you can run the gamut from soft, conversational quacks to loud hail calls that reach ducks working downwind. The black polycarbonate construction is tough enough for the truck and the marsh, resisting the dings and moisture that wear down lesser calls. It's the kind of call that stays in your vest pocket season after season without complaint.
Haydel's has been making waterfowl calls for decades, and the Black Hole line reflects that experience. If you're new to duck calling, a double-reed open call is a forgiving platform—you'll hear improvement quickly as your technique solidifies. Experienced hunters often keep a backup call in the boat or blind; the BH07's reliability makes it a sensible choice for that role. No frills, no gimmicks—just a call that quacks like a duck and works when it matters.
Yes. Double-reed calls are forgiving platforms that reward improving technique. The BH07's straightforward design lets you focus on mouth position and air pressure rather than fighting the call itself.
This call is tuned for mallard vocalizations. While dabbling ducks often respond to mallard sounds, this is not a specialty call for teal, pintails, or other species.
This call is designed specifically for mallard duck sounds. Goose calls have different sound profiles and bore designs; a dedicated goose call will serve you better for waterfowl other than ducks.
