Forward Controls Design
The Forward Controls Design Semi Auto Ambi 50 Degree Selector with Standard Levers is a purpose-built ambidextrous safety lever designed for shooters who demand precision and reliability in high-stress environments. Built as a collaboration between Forward Controls Design and Sons of Liberty Gunworks, this selector rotates a short 50 degrees between FIRE and SEMI positions—a deliberate design choice that minimizes the distance your thumb travels during operation. Whether you're training at the range, running a defensive course, or building a duty rifle, this control puts ergonomics and speed at the center of the conversation.
The engineering here is serious. FCD machined the center from 8620 steel, heat-treated and black nitrided for durability, while the levers receive the same treatment. They chose serrations parallel to the lever's length—not the trendy dimple pattern—because serrations in this orientation support positive thumb purchase without creating drag as your finger slides across the control during operation. A tapered outer profile conforms naturally to your thumb's angle, making the selector feel like an extension of your grip rather than an add-on. The lever-to-center interface holds to incredibly tight tolerances (±0.001/−0.000) and uses a high-shear 420 stainless steel roll pin rated for 800 lbs—overkill by design, because the pin is there to locate, not load.
This is a true ambi selector: ship it with two standard-profile levers or a single lever and end cap, your choice. A single position indicator dimple on each side lets you confirm the safety status at a glance. Installation uses two of the four included roll pins; the other two are spares. The package also includes a selector spring and a KNS nitrided detent. Every component is manufactured in the USA and built to survive the kind of use that separates gear from just stuff.

Yes. The design includes levers on both sides of the selector center, allowing operation from either side of the rifle without repositioning your grip.
The selector rotates 50 degrees total between the FIRE and SEMI positions—a short, deliberate arc that minimizes thumb travel during operation, ideal for rapid safety transitions.
You receive the selector center, a selector spring, a KNS nitrided detent, two standard levers (or one lever and an end cap if you prefer single-side operation), and four stainless steel roll pins—two for installation and two spares.
This is a semi-auto selector designed for compatible AR-15-pattern receivers. Verify platform compatibility with your rifle's manufacturer before ordering, as installation requires the proper receiver setup.
