EGW
The EGW Mauser 98 Large Ring 3-Hole 1-Pc Picatinny Base gives you a solid, flexible foundation for mounting optics on your Mauser 98 large ring action. Built from 6061 T6 aluminum and machined to strict MIL-STD 1913 specifications, this single-piece base accepts both Picatinny and Weaver rings—meaning you're not locked into one ring ecosystem. The three-hole attachment pattern distributes load effectively across the receiver, and the 0 MOA offset keeps your zero true without artificial cant.
What makes this base stand out is the flexibility it gives you. The Picatinny slots let you adjust eye relief quickly without switching bases, and that matters whether you're fine-tuning a hunting scope or setting up a tactical rig. The milled center channel keeps weight down without sacrificing rigidity—a genuine advantage if you're building a rifle you'll actually carry. Precision machining to +/-.002" tolerance means your rings will sit tight and consistent.
Installation is straightforward: the base ships with socket head Torx screws and the wrench you need. EGW's recommendation is simple—20 inch-pounds of torque and a small dab of blue loctite. Take your time, follow that spec, and you're looking at a base that'll hold zero season after season.
