EGW
The EGW Mauser 98 Large Ring Undrilled scope base is a precision-machined mounting solution purpose-built for large ring Mauser 98 actions. If you're running a Mauser 98 rifle and want the flexibility to dial in eye relief or swap between different scope rings without remounting, this Picatinny-compatible base gives you that freedom. Machined from 6061 T6 aluminum, it's lightweight without sacrificing rigidity—a combination that matters when you're trying to keep your rifle's handling balance intact.
What makes this base stand out is the standardized Picatinny rail design: the cross-slots are gauged to MIL-STD 1913 specs to +/-.002" tolerance, so it plays nice with any quality Picatinny or Weaver rings you already own or plan to use. That compatibility matters. You're not locked into a specific ring manufacturer or stuck with oversized adjustment ranges. The undrilled configuration means you'll be installing this base yourself—it comes with socket head Torx screws and the wrench to drive them, and EGW specs 20 inch-pounds of torque with a drop of blue loctite as best practice for a solid, repeatable mount.
Whether you're setting up a hunting rifle, a range gun, or working on a restoration, this base gives you the precision foundation you need to get a scope running straight without guesswork. The aluminum construction keeps weight minimal, and the Picatinny standard means upgrades down the road won't force you to start over.

This EGW base is designed for Mauser 98 large ring actions. If you're unsure whether your Mauser has a large ring or small ring, check your rifle's documentation or contact us with the specific model for confirmation.
The Picatinny rail design accepts any standard Picatinny or Weaver scope rings. You're not restricted to a specific brand or model, so you can choose rings that match your scope tube diameter and preferred adjustment range.
The base is undrilled and comes with socket head Torx screws and the matching wrench. You'll drill the mounting holes on your action yourself. EGW recommends using 20 inch-pounds of torque and a drop of blue loctite when securing the screws.
Zero MOA indicates the rail is mounted parallel to the bore with no elevation cant built in. This gives you a neutral platform; any elevation adjustment comes from your scope or rings rather than the base itself.
