The Edgar Sherman Design Notch shooting bag in Ranger Green is a precision rifle rest designed for shooters who need stable support across varied field conditions. Unlike rigid bench bags, the Notch uses a 4-way stretch weave body that conforms around natural barricades, rocks, logs, and other improvised supports—making it equally at home in a competition bay, on a hunt, or during long-range practice. That flexibility is the whole point: you get a consistent shooting platform even when the terrain won't cooperate.

The bag's Cordura laminate exoskeleton protects the stretchy weave core while keeping the overall design compact enough to pack in a kit bag or rifle case. Because the material wraps rather than fights your environment, micro-adjustments happen with a simple hand squeeze—no need to fiddle with sand, beans, or complicated adjustment mechanisms. The PVC-coated fabric stands up to rough handling and wet conditions, so it'll last through seasons of hard use.

Whether you run it as a rear bag under the butt stock or flip it forward as a front rest, the Notch adapts to how you shoot. It's built for shooters serious about precision—hunters dialing in long-distance shots, precision rifle competitors, and field shooters who understand that perfect conditions rarely exist outside the range.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the Notch both as a rear and front bag?

Yes. The Notch is designed to function as both a rear bag (under the butt stock) and a front rest. Its versatile construction allows you to adjust how you deploy it depending on your shooting position and setup.

What makes the Notch different from a traditional fill-able shooting bag?

The 4-way stretch weave material wraps around barricades and natural features in your shooting environment, so it adapts to imperfect conditions rather than requiring you to position it perfectly. Micro-adjustments come from squeezing the bag with your hand, not from adding or removing fill.

Will this hold up in wet or harsh conditions?

The PVC-coated fabric is designed to resist moisture and abrasion, making it suitable for field use in variable weather and rough handling during transport and setup.

Is the Notch small enough to pack for hunting or field matches?

Yes. The Notch is built with a compact, packable design so you can fit it into a kit bag, pack, or rifle case without taking up significant space.
