Dewey
The Dewey 30-HSS rod is a stainless steel cleaning rod built for hunters and shooters who want their bore maintenance tools to last and perform without compromising barrel integrity. The hard, stainless steel construction resists the particle embedment that softer rods invite—jacket metal shavings, powder fouling, and carbon crud slide right through instead of getting stamped into the bore during the scrubbing process. If you're serious about keeping your .30 caliber rifle's accuracy alive, a quality cleaning rod isn't the place to cut corners.
Ball bearing handles make the rod smooth and comfortable to run, reducing fatigue during longer cleaning sessions and giving you better feedback as you work. The universal brass patch loop accepts standard cleaning patches without fussiness, and brass won't damage your bore the way steel contact points can. This is the kind of straightforward, no-frills design that's earned Dewey respect in the precision shooting community—it does one job well and lasts for decades if you treat it right.
Whether you're cleaning after a day at the range, maintaining a hunting rifle between seasons, or keeping a target gun in top shape, the Dewey 30-HSS rod is the kind of tool that pays for itself in peace of mind. Pair it with good patches, solvent, and a routine that suits your rifle's bore condition, and you've got the foundation of a maintenance program that keeps accuracy consistent.
This rod is designed for .30 caliber rifles.
Stainless steel is hard and tough enough that particles like jacket metal, powder fouling, and other debris can't embed into it. Softer rod materials can trap contaminants that then scratch your bore during cleaning. The Dewey's stainless construction keeps your bore safe.
Yes, the universal brass patch loop accepts standard cleaning patches. Brass is chosen because it won't damage your bore the way steel contact points can.
