Dead Air
The Dead Air Armament Blast Shroud in .458 caliber with DA458 Xeno adaptor and 1-1/8-28 thread is purpose-built to manage the punishing blast and concussion that comes with short-barreled rifle and pistol-caliber carbine setups. If you've shot an unsuppressed SBR and felt that brutal muzzle concussion—or worse, watched it send your shooting buddies scrambling—this linear compensator redirects that energy forward of the muzzle, creating a noticeably more pleasant experience for everyone on the line. It's not a suppressor, and it doesn't replace one, but on a short gun running naked, the Blast Shroud makes a measurable difference in flash signature and felt recoil management.
Dead Air's modular architecture means this .458 shroud integrates with other Dead Air muzzle devices and suppressors, so your investment plays well with the rest of your setup. The 1-1/8-28 thread accommodates Dead Air's DA458 Xeno adaptor and various mounting configurations. Construction is robust—4140 heat-treated alloy steel shroud with 4140HT and 17-4 stainless steel adapters, finished in black nitride. At 2.56 inches in length and just 4.6 ounces, it adds minimal weight while keeping the muzzle further from your support hand on shorter platforms, reducing the risk of accidental suppression if your grip drifts forward during aggressive shooting.
Linear muzzle compensation also helps maintain your sight picture between shots, which matters when follow-up speed counts. Whether you're running a .458 SOCOM pistol-caliber upper or a short-barreled rifle in that caliber, the Blast Shroud is a straightforward way to dial down the harassment without breaking your workflow or your bank account.
