Dead Air
The Dead Air Armament Blast Shroud for .458 caliber is a muzzle device engineered to transform the shooting experience on short-barreled rifles and pistol-caliber carbines by managing concussion and flash. Designed to fit the DA458 Xeno and DA452 Keymicro suppressor platforms with a 1-1/8-28 thread pitch, this shroud redirects blast energy forward of the muzzle rather than back toward the shooter and bystanders. If you've shared a line at the range with an unsuppressed short-barrel rifle, you know how brutal that concussion wave can be—for you, your spotters, and everyone downrange. The Blast Shroud solves that problem without requiring a full suppressor.
The shroud delivers measurable benefits on the firing line. By diverting concussion forward, it reduces the punishing pressure wave that slows target reacquisition and fatigues shooters during extended sessions. The linear design also minimizes muzzle rise, helping you maintain your sight picture between shots for faster, more accurate follow-ups. On a short-barreled platform, the shroud's 1.87-inch length extends the muzzle further from your support hand, eliminating the risk of accidental coverage during rapid fire—a real safety gain on compact setups.
Dead Air's modular architecture means this shroud plays well with the rest of the Dead Air ecosystem. Built from 4140 heat-treated alloy steel with black nitride finish, it's tough enough for hard use and light enough at 3.1 ounces not to throw off your balance. Whether you're running a precision rifle, a defensive carbine, or a range toy, this is a no-compromise way to keep the peace downrange while keeping your shot group tight.
