Colt
The Colt Python 357 Mag/38 Special revolver is a legendary wheelgun reborn for hunters, sport shooters, and defensive carriers who demand proven reliability in a timeless package. Built on a carbon steel frame and cylinder with a matte blued finish, this 5-inch barreled revolver combines classic Colt engineering with modern ergonomics—a serious tool that feels right in your hand whether you're at the range or in the field.
What sets this Python apart is its attention to strength and precision. The one-piece carbon steel barrel features a ventilated rib and recessed crown, with 30% more steel behind the rear sight than competing designs. That geometry translates to a steadier sight picture and less felt recoil—noticeable when you're shooting full-power 357 Magnum loads all day. The leaf spring action delivers a smooth, non-stacking trigger in both double and single-action modes, critical for accurate shooting whether you're hunting or running drills. Fluted 6-round cylinder accepts both 357 Magnum and 38 Special, giving you ammunition flexibility without swapping guns.
The Python ships with Hogue OverMolded rubber grips that absorb recoil and won't slip when your hands are wet or gloved. Tritium night sights cut through low light, and fully adjustable rear sights let you dial in your preferred load. At 43 ounces unloaded and 10.5 inches overall, it's substantial enough to shoot well but trim enough to carry or store safely. The exposed hammer gives you that classic revolver feel and fine trigger control in single-action mode.
This is a revolver built to last decades and perform under real conditions—no marketing tricks, just steel, springs, and proven design.

Yes. The fluted cylinder is chambered for 357 Magnum but fully accepts 38 Special ammunition. Many shooters use 38 Special for practice or reduced-recoil shooting in the same gun.
In double-action, pulling the trigger cocks and fires the revolver in one motion (7–9.5 pound pull). In single-action, you manually cock the hammer first, then a lighter trigger press fires the round. Single-action is faster and more precise for skilled shooters.
Yes. The Python comes fitted with a tritium front night sight and a fully adjustable rear sight, both functional in low light and daylight.
Hogue OverMolded rubber grips in black. These are factory installed and designed to absorb recoil while providing a secure, non-slip hold in various conditions.
