Cold Steel
The Cold Steel CS92BKS is a 32.25" medieval training sword built from black polypropylene throughout—blade and handle alike. If you're getting into historical martial arts, stage combat, or just want a safe way to practice sword fundamentals without the risk and maintenance of steel, this is a practical choice. Polypropylene construction means you can drill techniques, spar with partners, and build muscle memory without worrying about damaging expensive equipment or causing serious injury. It's the kind of tool that lets you focus on form and footwork instead of babying your gear.
Cold Steel has built its reputation on practical, durable gear for real-world use. This training sword follows that philosophy—it's not a display piece or a toy. The full 32.25" length gives you the reach and balance profile you'd expect from a medieval training implement, while the lighter polypropylene construction keeps fatigue manageable during longer practice sessions. Whether you're training for HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts), working with a stage combat choreographer, or just exploring sword handling, having a dedicated training blade separate from a display or collection piece makes sense.
The black polypropylene handle is sized at 7.25", giving you room for different grip styles and hand sizes. It's straightforward, functional design—no unnecessary frills, just what you need to hold and control the sword through your drills.

Yes. The polypropylene construction is specifically designed for practice and sparring without the injury risk of steel or wood training swords. It's widely used in HEMA and stage combat training.
This is a training tool, not a weapon. Polypropylene is much lighter, more forgiving on impact, and safer for controlled drills and partner work. You can use it to develop proper technique and muscle memory without the cost or danger of handling steel.
Polypropylene is durable and designed to withstand the rigors of training drills. It won't rust, won't require maintenance like steel, and won't splinter like wood.
The 7.25" handle is sized to accommodate most adult hand sizes and allows for different grip styles, whether you're using one hand or two.
