The Cold Steel Bushman 7" fixed blade bowie knife is a serious camp and field knife built from a single piece of SK-5 high carbon steel. Unlike hollow-handle knives with welded seams, Cold Steel forges the Bushman's blade and handle as one solid unit, then heat-treats it to RC54 hardness and tests it to withstand over two tons of pressure at the blade-to-handle junction. That engineering means you get a knife that won't fail when you're deep in the backcountry relying on it for food prep, shelter work, and bushcraft tasks.

The 7-inch bowie-point blade is ground thin and hand-honed to a sharp edge, with a curve that excels at skinning, splitting, and detail work around camp. The hollow handle accepts survival gear or handle extensions to adapt the knife for different jobs, and it ships with a Secure-Ex sheath that includes a ferrocerium fire steel—giving you fire-starting capability without extra weight or bulk in your pack.

At 10.1 ounces with a 5¼-inch handle and 12¼-inch overall length, the Bushman strikes a practical balance for hunters, campers, and overlanders who need a capable fixed blade without excessive heft. The black polymer handle is durable in the field and won't absorb moisture like wood. If you're shopping for a fixed blade knife that prioritizes strength and simplicity over gimmicks, the Bushman is worth a serious look.
