The Cobratec Knives ASP OTF dagger is a compact, fast-deploying knife built for shooters, outdoorsmen, and anyone who needs a reliable blade in their pocket. This out-of-the-front design delivers instant access without fumbling—the 1.94" blade extends and retracts smoothly, making it practical for camp tasks, utility work, or tactical situations. The plain D2 steel edge holds its sharpness through heavy use and resists corrosion better than softer stainless alternatives, though it does require regular maintenance to prevent rust if exposed to moisture.
At 3.31" overall length when closed, the ASP rides deep in a pocket or pack without printing or snagging. The black aluminum handle provides a secure grip and good durability without excess weight. D2 steel is a proven choice for working blades—harder and tougher than most stainless options, it takes a keen edge and keeps it longer, making it ideal for repetitive cutting tasks in the field. The dagger profile gives you a versatile point for both slicing and piercing work.
OTF knives appeal to hunters, backcountry campers, and shooting sports enthusiasts who value speed and simplicity. The ASP's modest size keeps it legal in most states and comfortable to carry all day. Whether you're field-dressing game, cutting rope, or handling kitchen prep at base camp, this is a no-nonsense tool that favors function over flash.
| Blade Length | 1.94" |
| Closed Length | 3.31" |
| Blade Steel | D2 |
| Blade Style | Plain edge dagger |
| Handle Material | Black aluminum |
| Deployment Type | Out-of-the-front (OTF) |
D2 is a tool steel that holds an edge longer and stays sharper than most stainless steels, making it excellent for field and camp work. It does require more care to prevent rust—wipe the blade dry after use, especially in wet conditions, and oil it periodically. For hunters and outdoorsmen who maintain their gear, D2 delivers superior edge retention.
OTF knife laws vary by state and locality. Some states restrict or ban them entirely; others allow them with few limits. Check your local and state regulations before purchasing. We recommend reviewing your jurisdiction's knife laws before carrying.
The dagger design is versatile—the sharp point excels at piercing and detailed work, while the edge handles slicing tasks well. It's effective for field dressing, utility cutting, and general camp knife duties.
Yes. The compact size, fast deployment, and D2 steel edge make it a practical choice for hunters and backcountry campers who need a reliable cutting tool. The 1.94" blade is effective for most field tasks, and the OTF mechanism means you can deploy it one-handed without taking off gloves.
