A tanto blade features a flat edge that angles up sharply to a reinforced point. This geometry excels at controlled, perpendicular cuts and deliberate slicing—ideal for camp work, food prep, and tasks where precision matters more than aggressive sweep cuts. It's a tough, practical profile that won't fail you in the field.
Yes. At under 3 inches of blade length, the Elementum tanto is compact and legal to carry in most settings, making it a dependable EDC option. The D2 steel and micarta construction are equally at home in a hunting camp as they are in a daily pocket rotation. It's a genuine cutting tool, not a gimmick.
Micarta is a composite material made from linen or canvas and epoxy resin—tough, stable, and completely non-slip even with wet hands. The textured surface on this handle enhances grip security. It doesn't require special care and resists odor and staining far better than wood, making it ideal for outdoor and kitchen work alike.
D2 is a tool steel that holds an edge longer than most stainless options and is easier to sharpen. The trade-off is that it can rust if left wet for extended periods, but regular users find that a quick wipe keeps it problem-free. For a field knife that sees active use, D2 is a time-tested, practical choice.
