The Cimarron Frontier 4.75" .45 LC single-action revolver brings authentic Old West character to the handgun collection of shooters who appreciate classic lines and honest craftsmanship. Built on a pre-war frame with color case hardening, this .45 LC revolver splits the difference between the quick-draw Peacemaker and the longer-barreled Buntline—the 4.75-inch barrel offers enough sight radius for deliberate shooting while staying practical for holster work. Whether you're a Cowboy Action Shooting competitor, a collector of traditional wheelguns, or simply drawn to single-actions that feel like they belong in a different era, the Frontier delivers the visual and mechanical authenticity that sets Cimarron apart from the modern pack.
That color case hardened frame isn't just eye candy. The deep blues and reds catch light the way they did a century ago, and the one-piece walnut grip—polished smooth—fits naturally in the hand without the bulk of oversized custom scales. The standard blue finish on the barrel and cylinder develops character with use, aging gracefully rather than looking like it came from a factory yesterday. This is a revolver that rewards attention and handling; every click of the cylinder, every sweep of the hammer, feels deliberate and earned.
.45 LC shooters know the cartridge: proven, versatile, and available everywhere. Reloaders love it. Cowboy Action competitors run it. Lead-bullet handloads deliver low-recoil target practice or serious hunting loads, depending on what you're after. The Frontier's traditional single-action lockwork is robust and straightforward—no transfer bars, no springs hunting for problems. If something wears, it wears visibly and fixes simply.
Cimarron's Frontier model respects the original designs without slavish copying; this is a working revolver dressed in period clothes, not a safe queen. Expect to shoot it, carry it, and let it earn its place in the safe through actual use.
| Caliber | .45 LC |
| Barrel Length | 4.75 inches |
| Frame | Color case hardened pre-war style |
| Finish | Standard blue (barrel and cylinder) |
| Grip | One-piece polished walnut |
| Action | Single-action revolver |
| Model | Frontier |
The Frontier splits the difference in barrel length. A classic Peacemaker runs 5.5 inches; the Frontier's 4.75-inch tube makes it slightly more compact while keeping respectable sight radius. You get faster handling without sacrificing too much for distance shooting.
Yes. The Frontier's traditional single-action lockwork, color case hardening, and period-correct appearance are right at home on the SASS range. The .45 LC caliber and 4.75-inch barrel are common competition choices.
Absolutely. The .45 LC is one of the most popular reloading calibers for shooters who want to tune loads for accuracy, recoil, or cost. The traditional single-action mechanism is well-suited to a wide range of handloads.
The Cimarron Frontier ships with the revolver as described—frame, barrel, cylinder, hammer, trigger, and one-piece walnut grip. Holster, ammunition, or other accessories are not included.
