CHIAPPA FIREARMS
The Chiappa 1911-22 is a single-action rimfire pistol built on the familiar 1911 platform, scaled down to .22 LR for shooters who want classic 1911 ergonomics and handling without the recoil and ammunition cost of centerfire calibers. This is an ideal training gun, a fun range shooter, or a low-report option for shooters sensitive to noise and recoil. The 5-inch barrel and 8.5-inch overall length keep it handy while maintaining sight radius and velocity, and at 2.1 pounds, it's light enough for all-day shooting sessions without fatigue.
Built on an alloy frame, the 1911-22 retains the manual safety, grip safety, and single-action trigger that make the 1911 design so reliable and shootable. The wood grips give it a classic look that matches the heritage of the design. A 10-round magazine capacity keeps you in the action longer between reloads—useful for plinking, competition, or training drills.
If you're already familiar with the 1911 platform or building your shooting skills on a .22, the Chiappa 1911-22 delivers that proven ergonomics and control in a caliber that won't punish your hands or your wallet. It's also a practical choice for shooters introducing others to firearms, offering low noise and felt recoil while maintaining real-world pistol manipulation and fundamentals.

Yes. It shares the same controls, trigger action, grip safety, and manual safety as a centerfire 1911, so you'll develop proper muscle memory and technique. The low recoil means you can focus on fundamentals rather than managing flinch, and the lower cost-per-round extends training sessions.
The 1911-22 uses its own .22 LR magazines with a 10-round capacity. It is not compatible with standard centerfire 1911 magazines.
Absolutely. The .22 LR is one of the most economical and enjoyable centerfire rounds for recreational shooting, and the 1911 platform is naturally quick and fun to shoot well.
It can be. The low recoil and noise make it approachable for new shooters, and the 1911 ergonomics are intuitive. However, always verify local law regarding age and supervision requirements for any new shooter.
