The Burris Signature HD 3-15x44 rifle scope is a versatile mid-range hunting and target optic built around a 30mm nitrogen-filled tube and designed to handle both precision shooting and field hunting. This scope brings a 5x zoom range to hunters and shooters who need flexibility across distances without sacrificing light transmission or optical clarity. The illuminated E3 MOA reticle is calibrated for traditional, magnum, and varmint loads, with hash marks on the lower vertical crosshair set for aiming from 100 to 400 yards—useful reference points whether you're dialing or holding for moving targets in variable light.

What sets the Signature HD apart is its user-focused turret design and adjustment features. The push-pull locking turrets lock in place after zeroing to prevent accidental drift, while the zero-click stop automatically halts elevation adjustment at your zero distance, making it faster and easier to return to point of aim after range testing or adjustment. A side focus parallax knob lets you dial out image blur across the magnification range, sharpening your sight picture from near to far distances. Multi-coated glass and fully waterproof, shockproof, and fog-proof construction mean the scope will perform in rain, dust, recoil, and temperature swings.

This is a practical choice for hunters who cover varied terrain—from open country glassing at distance to closer woods work—and for precision shooters building a rifle that doesn't demand ultra-high magnification. The matte finish resists glint and blends with most modern hunting rifles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Burris Signature HD 3-15x44 good for hunting at distance and close range?

Yes. The 3-15x magnification range spans typical hunting distances, from 3x wide-field viewing for closer shots to 15x magnification for glassing and precision aiming at 300+ yards. The illuminated reticle with distance-calibrated hash marks supports both holding and dialing approaches.

What is the E3 MOA reticle and who should use it?

The E3 MOA is a ballistic reticle with hash marks calibrated for traditional rifle loads, magnum cartridges, and varmint ammunition. The lower vertical crosshair has marks set for 100 to 400 yards, making it useful for hunters who want drop compensation without constantly adjusting turrets. Shooters comfortable reading a detailed reticle and who hunt or shoot in the distances covered benefit most.

What does the zero-click stop feature do?

The zero-click stop automatically halts the elevation turret at your established zero distance. This makes it faster to return to your precise zero after testing loads, making elevation adjustments, or storing the rifle. You simply turn the elevation knob until it stops, eliminating guesswork.

Does this scope work with standard rifle mounts?

The Signature HD uses a 30mm tube diameter, which is compatible with standard 30mm scope rings widely available for bolt-action, AR, and lever rifles. Confirm your rifle's mount type before purchase.
