The Burris Signature HD 2-10x40 rifle scope is a versatile, medium-power optic built for hunters and shooters who spend most of their time working at moderate distances. The 2-10x magnification range and 40mm objective strike a practical balance—low enough for close-quarters hunting in timber or brush, high enough to handle shots beyond 200 yards without struggling. Paired with the Ballistic E3 MOA reticle, this scope gives you a straightforward system for compensating holdover at distance and windage calls without requiring external ballistic calculators or guesswork.

Built on a one-inch, nitrogen-filled tube, the Signature HD features fully multi-coated glass for bright, sharp images in low light and across the magnification range. The push/pull locking turrets let you dial in your zero confidently and return to zero quickly if needed. This is a scope that works equally well on a .22 rimfire, a centerfire deer rifle, or a muzzleloader—which is why it's earned a solid reputation as a do-everything hunting optic for the budget-conscious shooter who doesn't want to compromise on optical quality.

The matte finish resists glare and blends seamlessly with most rifle finishes. Whether you're setting up a new hunting rifle or upgrading an older platform, the Signature HD delivers the field performance and reliability Burris is known for without unnecessary complexity or premium pricing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What rifle types will the Burris Signature HD 2-10x40 work with?

This scope is designed to work on rimfire rifles, centerfire hunting rifles, and muzzleloaders. Its moderate magnification range and wide field of view make it adaptable to a variety of platforms from .22 caliber up to full-power centerfire cartridges.

How does the Ballistic E3 reticle help with aiming at different distances?

The E3 MOA reticle includes reference points for holdover at extended range and hold-off for wind drift compensation. This lets you make elevation and windage corrections without adjusting the turrets, which is useful when you need to make quick adjustments in the field.

Can I reset the turrets to zero after sighting in?

Yes. The push/pull locking turrets allow you to dial your zero and lock them in place, then easily reset them to the mechanical zero mark for reference. This is a useful feature for consistent tracking between shooting sessions.

Is this a second focal plane or first focal plane scope?

The Burris Signature HD 2-10x40 uses a second focal plane (SFP) design, meaning the reticle subtensions are accurate only at the highest magnification setting (10x). At lower powers, the reticle will appear larger relative to the target.
