Buckeye Baits
The Buckeye Mushroom Jig in 1/4oz is a compact, versatile underspin jig built to coax strikes from bass holding tight to cover. This two-pack of Peanut Butter Jelly–colored jigs combines a proven mushroom head design with practical features that work in real-world fishing conditions. Whether you're pitching into dense vegetation, around dock pilings, or probing rocky transitions, these jigs are engineered to slide through heavy cover without snagging, then land the hook when it counts.
Buckeye equipped each jig with dual light weed guards, a design choice that lets you fish aggressively in places where open-hook presentations get hung up constantly. The silicone skirt adds visual appeal and vibration without adding bulk, making these jigs effective for bass and other gamefish that key on subtle movement and profile. The Mustad Ultra Point hook is sharp enough to penetrate reliably on the strike, so you lose fewer fish to dull penetration once you've set the hook.
The 1/4oz weight sits in the sweet spot for most shallow to mid-depth applications—heavy enough to cast reasonably far and maintain contact in moderate current, light enough to finesse in clearer water or when fish are less aggressive. With two jigs in the pack, you've got a spare so you can test colors or have a backup rigged while you retie or adjust. Peanut Butter Jelly is a natural color choice for stained to moderately clear water, mimicking crawfish and natural forage that bass eat year-round.
| Brand | Buckeye Baits |
| Jig Type | Underspin / Mushroom Head |
| Weight | 1/4 oz |
| Color | Peanut Butter Jelly |
| Quantity | 2-pack |
| Hook | Mustad Ultra Point |
| Weed Guards | Dual light guards |
You get two Buckeye Mushroom Jigs, each 1/4oz, both in Peanut Butter Jelly color. That gives you a primary jig and a backup, or lets you rig one while you're retying or adjusting the other.
Yes. The dual light weed guards are designed to reduce snags when you're pitching into or around dense cover like matted weeds, brush, or timber. The mushroom head profile also helps the jig slide through cover more easily than some other designs.
The 1/4oz weight is versatile and will catch bass of all sizes, though it's particularly effective in shallow to mid-depth water. It's light enough to finesse-fish but heavy enough to maintain bottom contact and casting distance in normal conditions.
Peanut Butter Jelly is a natural, neutral color that works well in stained to moderately clear water. It mimics crawfish and other forage, making it a reliable choice throughout the year for most freshwater bass fishing situations.
